Become A Volunteer

Haylings BEST is always looking for volunteers to help with the ongoing development of our projects we would be delighted to hear from you.

It doesn't matter whether you can only spare a couple of hours a month or have more time to spend we can find a role for you within our team. The diversity of our projects mean that there is something for everyone.

Hayling BEST was initially formed via the Market Towns Initiative to bring a new lease of life to our community, so that we can provide convenient access to the services that townspeople and surrounding communities depend on. Our aim is to promote Hayling Island as a vibrant, viable and independent community.

An initial questionnaire under four distinct areas Business, Environment, Social and Tourism highlighted the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats to our community and having established this our steering group developed an action plan to bring forward a number of projects that would benefit our community under the Haylings Best banner.

Our team of dedicated volunteers have set up and established a number of events held within Hayling Island each year. We believe that taken together they help to create not just a sense of community, but also improve the prospects for business, tourists and people within the Hayling community.

Our affiliation to Action For Market Towns provides us with an insight into what is working in other communities and an opportunity to have a voice (however small) in national developments in market town planning. Our own projects have been recognised by Action for Market Towns in their prestigous National Awards.

We are continuing to develop programmes that take our community forward and also provide support to projects that share our aims to benefit the Hayling Island community.
